*Food is served to poor people through CM Didi Kitchen in Jharkhand.

At a time of the nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, billboard has come up near Suchna Bhawan Chowk in Ranchi with a picture of Chief Minister Hemant Soren showing the state government's move to contain hunger and serve cooked food to poor people in Jharkhand.

Billed as Chief Minister Didi Kitchen Scheme, it is the brainchild of Hemant Soren. It is being run by the state government. The aim was to ensure that poor people do not face hunger due to the lockdown. 

In fact, in all districts, Didi Kitchen is working to provide cooked food to the needy people. While serving food through Didi Kitchen, complete care is also being taken for cleanliness and social distancing claims a state government report.

According to official data, there are 6,883 didi kitchens running across the state."Cooked food is being provided to millions of people daily". claims the same report."In the last 24 hours, 5,17,615 needy people have been fed by the Didi kitchen."

An enquiry revealed that food grains have also been provided to 2,69,145 people under the non-PDS. More, food grains have been provided to 1,82,502 people. 

As of now, scores of people have been fed under various schemes of Dal Bhatt. As per official data, bearly 2,33,155 migrant laborers are being fed in various relief camps set up by the government. 

"About millions of people have been fed by various NGOs and volunteers at various places in the state. Emergency relief packets are also being distributed among the needy people", claims the state government report prepared by the civil supply department.

Alongside a State Level Corona Control Room (SLCCR) has been set up by the state government and a 24X7 toll-free number 181 has been issued so that the people can contact for any kind of assistance and queries regarding Corona Virus (Covid-19). 

As of now, About 24,100 cases were forwarded to the concerned districts and departments for action. Out of which, assistance has been provided on 18,447 cases. 

Every possible action are being taken on the remaining matters. In the Corona control room, 12,573 complaints related to the food supply, 1,114 related to law and order, 1,218 related to medical, 1,334 related to persons stranded in Jharkhand and 2,208 other complaints have been resolved.

The state government is providing all possible assistance to the people of Jharkhand stranded in other states and union territories. As of now, the Department of Labor, Planning and Training have received 32,651 calls in which 9,44,363 people have been reported stranded outside the state. Out of which, 6,37,125 migrant laborers have been reported stranded at 14,032 places. 

As of now, the government has made arrangements for food and lodging of 4,99,368 workers stranded at 13,497 places. Complete information is also being collected from the people to provide every possible assistance from all levels.

The social security department of the state government is working to provide pension for the beneficiaries of the month of March and April. About 100 percent pension has been provided in various districts of the state in March, while 19,06,214 people have been provided pension so far in April.
