Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today recommended a CBI probe into the murder of Rameshwar Murmu.

Murmu, who is the kin of two tribal heroes of Santhal Pargana- Sidho and Kanhu-was murdered on June 12, 2020.

To press for the CBI probe, several political parties including the opposition BJP had launched agitations. Toward this end, DGP MV Rao had sent a recommendation to the CM. Murmu’s case file 97/2020 dated 17.6.2020, Section 302 against yet to be identified culprits was registered.
