Jharkhand police have rescued 31 girls who were being taken to Tamil Nadu for work there.Among them,nine girls were  minor.

These rescued girls,some of whom were from Dadha village under Balumath police station in Jharkhand's Latehar district,were being taken to TN by a bus.The bus carrying the TN number plate was seized by the police.

Balumath Circle Officer Ravi Kumar informed that girls from different districts such as Latehar,Lohardaga,Ranchi,Simdega were being taken to work in a Chennai based Krishna Cloth Mill.However,there were no documents were available to prove it,claimed Kumar.

Investigation revealed that Shiv Kumar who is a resident of Balumath was a coordinator in organising girls at Balumath.Shiv Kumar is learnt to have verbally promised to get each girl paid Rs 9,000 per month.

The police have seized the bus and kept its driver and co driver in custody.None of them speak in Hindi.The rescued girls were put up at the government run Kasturba balika School in Balumath.
