In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old girl from Jharkhand, was found dead in the backyard of a house, where she was staying with her parents, in Kattappana in Idukki district of Kerala this morning, reports PTI.

“The deceased was the daughter of a plantation worker couple from that state, which arrived here just two weeks ago in search of a job in a cardamom estate in this high range district”, said the PTI report.

However, this report has not disclosed identity of the deceased. The girl was missing from her parents’ house, located inside an estate in Mettukuzhy in Idukki on Wednesday morning, said Idukki police.

They immediately carried out a search and found her body near the backyard of the house, the PTI report quotes her parents as saying.

The post mortem report is awaited.
