Jharkhand government today reviewed the works of the power sector in Jharkhand.

The review took note of facts on file.A press release issued by the public relations department enclosed a set of documents.

                                                          Patratu Thermal Power Plant Capacity addition

After the reallocation of Banhardi Coal Block, the progress of setting up plant at Patratu for a capacity of 2 x 660 MW has been accelerated. With land, coal and water availability ensured, and Rapid Environment Impact Analysis to be completed by May end. The bidding of Patratu Expansion Project would begin in June-July 2013.

                                                                          Review of R-APDRP Work  

 30 towns of Jharkhand having population of more than 30 thousand are under implementation of R-APDRP Program. These towns are as below:

PART-A program is under implementation. This project is to create IT enabled system for  monitoring of revenue exercise & energy accounting. The installation of Boundary meter, Feeder meter & transformer meter, GIS based consumer Indexing and Asset mapping through Data Centre by way of using Sims and Modems through dedicated bandwidth are some of the technological features. It will lead to online consumer billing, reduction of AT&C losses and better customer Care Services.

 

                Pilot town project at Lohardagga Go-live is expected by 15th May’13. Work in rest of the towns are scheduled to be completed by the end of Sep 2013. Implementing agencies HCLI need to be more sincere towards these commitments for honoring the completion schedule. Hon’ble Advisor of the Governor spoke to National Head of HCL on telephone requesting immediate implementation by HCL under the PART-A project.

 

                In regard to PART-B, The DPR have been prepared and advance copy has already been sent to PFC. Meanwhile the DPR needs approval by Cabinet before it is considered by PFC for project sanctioning. In PART-B of R-APDRP, infrastructure of existing distribution system will be completely renovated with underground cabling, reconductoring & aerial bunch cables.

 

                Total value of DPR comes to 1370 Crore. The DPR for SCADA for three towns having population more than 4 lacs (Ranchi, Jamshedpur & Dhanbad) have also been prepared for the value of Rs.105 Crore.

 

                The successful completion of this scheme will enable conversation of 50% loan amount into grant.
