Vision Empower (VE), a not-for-profit organization incubated at IIIT Bangalore, is engaged in the research and design of programs to make Science, Mathematics, and Computational Thinking education accessible for students with visual impairment.
VE is currently working with government/government-aided special schools for the blind in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Tripura, and Kerala.
Requirement:
Education qualification: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in any Science subject. B Ed/Special B Ed degree will be an added qualification.
Language and other skills:
Should be proficient in Hindi and should be able to communicate in English.
Basic ability to operate computers.
Willingness to work with children and teachers with visual impairment.
Job Description :
Vision Empower seeks applications for appointing a School Coordinator. Monthly remuneration 25,000-30,000.
VE is looking for someone to join it at Ranchi to work at the special schools for the blind in Jharkhand. The candidate has to be ready to engage with students and teachers with visual impairment, understand their challenges, and implement the Vision Empower interventions at the special schools across the state.
The work will involve travelling to schools to train teachers and conduct classes for students on accessible Science, Mathematics and Computational Thinking. It will also involve training the teachers and students on the usage of the accessible and assistive technologies specifically created/provided by Vision Empower for the education of persons with visual impairment.
