Suspended IAS officer Pooja Singhal has to wait to get out of jail on bail.

Her petition seeking bail is slated to be heard by the ED’s Special court in Ranchi on July 26. The counsel of Pooja Singhal has sought a certified copy of the charge sheet filed by the ED against her.

This is likely to take a couple of days.

Undergoing imprisonment in the Birsa Munda central jail in Jharkhand, Pooja Singhal filed a petition seeking bail on June 26. Responding to it, the ED submitted its reply in the form of re- joinder on July 12. 

On May 11, Pooja Singhal was arrested on charges of money laundering. After her arrest, the ED interrogated her by taking her on remand for 14 days. 

On May 25, the ED had shown her presence in the court. The same day the ED Special court remanded her judicial custody and she was sent to jail.

Within 60 days of her imprisonment in Birsa Munda jail, the ED had submitted the charge sheet against her among the 7 accused.
