SAFE, an organization dedicated in creating road Safety Awareness among the citizen of Jamshedpur especially the student community has extended its activities to colleges in a big way. Recently, accident through auto-rickshaw has taken many lives in Jamshedpur therefore being aware of seriousness of the incident, SAFE came forward to work with local administration for this noble cause.

Two months ago, Akhilesh Kumar Jha , SSP has initiated this project with SAFE who has now, with the guidance of M K. Sinha, Deputy S P Traffic and Support of Corporate Safety , Tata Steel, SAFE organised a defensive driving training programme for auto drivers today at Uttkal Association.

Dheeren of SAFE DRIVE, INDIA took the session who addressed upon issues such as Introduction to Road safety, Understanding different types of road users, Traffic Controlling Systems, Driver passenger relation, Defensive way of driving – Lane management / indicators usage importance etc., Driving under difficult conditions – Rain / night / fog etc, Auto maintenance and its importance, First Aid related to Road accident etc.

SSP who presided as Chief Guest said that he was very pleased to inaugurate this important session and that he is sure that they would learn and follow the road safety rules and make the city safe.
This is first such initiative to start with but they would make it going.

Chandra Sharan, Convenor, SAFE convened the workshop, Ruchi Narendran Co-Chairperson SAFE outlined the objectives of the programme whereas M K Sinha, Deputy S P Traffic including special guests Dinesh Parikh also attended the workshop.
Programme was very interactive as a great number of local small events, incidents etc. were captured. Small interesting movies were also shown to the participants.
