BJP leader Dr Subramanian Swamy has hit the legal ground today. In response, the apex court  agreed to issue notice to CBI and RBI.

In his plea Dr Swamy had sought from the Supreme Court a a probe into the alleged role of Reserve Bank of India  officials in various banking scams.

In response,a bench of Justices B R Gavai and B V Nagarathna issued notices to the Central Bureau of Investigation and Reserve Bank of India and sought their replies on Swamy’s plea.

“We’ll consider. Issue notice," the bench said.

Swamy has alleged that RBI officials were involved in scams involving various entities such as Kingfisher, Bank of Maharashtra and Yes Bank and the CBO had not probed into it.

Dr Swamy’s plea shows his clear allegations that  RBI officials had violated statutes, including the Reserve Bank of India Act, Banking Regulation Act and State Bank of India Act.
