*C P Radhakrishnan taking oath at Raj Bhawan in Ranchi
On the day of Maha Shivaratri, a Hindu festival celebrated annually to commemorate the wedding of Shiva and Parvati, two states in India witnessed oath taking function of its Governor.
Top BJP leader from Tamil Nadu C P Radhakrishnan took oath of office as the 11th Governor of Jharkhand inside Raj Bhawan in Ranchi.
“ I am happy to take over as the Governor of Jharkhand… development of the state is important for me…”, Governor Radhakrishnan told media persons in presence of cabinet ministers and Chief Hemant Soren.
Radhakrishnan, BJP MP from Coimbatore for a second consecutive term, has succeeded Ramesh Bais, who served as the governor of Jharkhand since Numy 2021.
Bais, on the other hand, took oath as the 22nd Governor of Maharashtra. He has replaced Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
Bais was administered oath by Acting Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court S V Gangapurwala at the Raj Bhawan in Mumbai. Notably, Bais took oath in Marathi.
