A day after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was disqualified by the Parliament Secretariat as Member of Parliament in Modi surname case in which he was convicted by Surat court, Chief Minister of Jharkhand and leader of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Hemant Soren today stood in his support and lambasted the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In effect, this, the name of Hemant Soren figures in the long list of several opposition leaders including Delhi and West Bengal CMs Arvind Kejriwal and Mamata Bannerjee who had criticised the Modi government on Rahul Gandhi’s conviction by the Surat court and disqualification as MP by the secretariat of the Lok Sabha.

However, unlike his counter parts of Delhi and West Bengal who had criticised the Modi government levelling charges of misuse of judiciary and Parliament, CM Hemant Soren said that the BJP government  describes the current period as “ Amritkal”( Auspicious period between 75th and 100 years of Independence of India).

And on another hand, the Modi government was using every mechanism available in corridor of power against opposition leaders.

So, Soren took a swipe at Modi government, saying,” if the Amrit Kal of New India is effective only for the BJP and its members,it is a period of emergency for opposition leaders and the people.”
