A tiger of the Palamau Tiger Reserve is said to have attacked and injured one youth who is undergoing treatment at RIMS hospital in Ranchi.

The incident took place on Friday evening when a tiger attacked him in the Korwamadai forest in Chugru village of Chipadohar East region of the Palamau Tiger Reserve. 

The injured youth was brought to RIMS hospital this morning. His condition is  reportedly “ serious.” 

The tiger was spotted in Palamau Tiger reserve last month. The footprints of this big cat were captured by CCTVs, said PTR Ranger Shankar Paswan who confirmed that the youth was injured in the attack by a tiger.

In all, forest personnel’s seven teams,each of 40 foresters, were deployed to search this tiger in Palamau Tiger Reserve.
