Equipment and raw material worth lakhs of rupees were burnt to ashes when a water tank factory caught fire in the Berwari area of Angara in Ranchi on Wednesday.

The factory was badly damaged.

It took fire tenders and about two dozen firemen to douse the fire that took place in the factories on Thursday morning.

The fire was so intense that families living in nearby villages left their houses and came out on the highway.

Notably, a few workers were present in the factories at that time and as such there has been no report of any lives being lost.

The cause of the fire is attributed to a short circuit.
