As the crescent moon was sighted on Friday, Ranchi and all towns, cities, and villages in India are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday.
 
As per the belief, the sighting of the moon marks the end of the holy month of Ramzan, which is observed by Muslims worldwide through fasting and prayer.

The public was also asked to participate in the sighting of the crescent moon.

The state administration in Jharkhand has deployed police personnel in strength to maintain law and order on the holy occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
