A horrible case of the murder of a girl has been registered by the police in Harmu residential of Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand.

Niwedita Nayan, 20, was shot dead along the roadside near Patel Park, Argora Chowk. Another girl Shriehti was also injured.

Niwedita, a student doing BBA at ICFAI University in Ranchi, who stayed in a hostel in Harmu Housing Colony, hailed from Nawada district in Bihar.

According to police, Niwedita was shot at by a bike rider who escaped after committing the crime. She was taken to RIMS hospital where she was declared dead.

The police are yet to arrest anybody in this connection.” Investigation is on”, said Sudhir Singh, a police officer who is investigating the case.
