A team of doctors and officials have reached Balasore in Odisha. The team comprises the Surgeon of Sadar Hospital, Ranchi, Dr. Ajit Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Ranchi, Rahul Kumar Sinha, Labour Secretary Rajesh Sharma, and others.

“They have identified Jharkhand-based injured passengers. Now, they will either be brought to Ranchi or Kolkata to help them gain quality medical service”, said a senior officer of the state government.

Though among 290 passengers dead and over 900 others injured, three passengers who survived and suffered from injuries on the head and bodies were from Godda in Jharkhand. They were going to Chennai for jobs.

The team of doctors and officials was sent to Balasore on the injured passengers’ demand addressed by CM Hemant Soren.
