Two weeks after the Jharkhand government  launched ‘Mission Cashless Jharkhand’, an ambitious plan to ensure at least one block in each of the state’s 24 districts shifts entirely to cashless transactions by December 28,the Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant on Tuesdayaddressed mediapersons in Ranchi.

“The Union government will award digital payment makers during December 8-30 by drawing lottery.On January 14,mega draw will be made to award businessmen who will make digital payment”,said Kant.

Kant said that officers of the Jharkhand government were making efforts to make Mission Cashless successful,He appealed to them to follow the Andhra Pradesh model to turn Jharkhand as number one digital state in the country.

 

‘Mission Cashless Jharkhand’ is an ambitious plan to ensure at least one block in each of the state’s 24 districts shifts entirely to cashless transactions by December 28.The task is difficult to achieve since a vast population of the state reside in rural areas,each lacking electricity and Internet connection.

Moreover,the farmers lacked smart phones,knowledge and expertise to use cashless transaction system.
