Businessman Vishnu Agarwal who had been summoned and grilled thrice by the Enforcement Directorate and summoned again, failed to appear for questioning in connection with the land scam on Monday.
Agrawal who was directed by the ED to appear before it with documents of the deal connected with land in Pugdu and bank statements has cited his “ bad health condition” and sought three weeks time to appear before it.
ED is yet to respond to his plea.”We are examining his case”, says a senior ED officer.
In the past, Vishnu Agrawal accompanied by his two helpers was spotted limping while walking inside the ED office located at the Airport Road of the capital for questioning. After three hours of questioning, he was allowed to go home on medical grounds. He claimed that he had recently gone through an operation and needed time to recover.
ED has also already got suspended IAS officer Chhavi Ranjan in its remand for six days who is also present inside the same office. ED sources said that both of them will today be brought face to face and their response on various allegations will be sought.
It has been claimed that Vishnu Agarwal had paid the expenses for Chhavi Ranjan’s Goa Trip.
