FIR filed by police in Latehar revealed that Maoists have killed a forest department staff in Durup forest area falling under Netarhat police station, 150 km from Ranchi.

FIR was registered against 12 CPI( Maoists). A gang of Maoists had killed forest department staff Deo Kumar Prajapati ( 35) was beaten to death and injured four others on Monday, states the FIR.

Latehar SP Anjani Anjan informed that 12 Maoists belonging to the banned CPI( Maoist) led by their regional Commander Chotu Kharwar, commander Manish, assistant commander Ujjwal and Pradeep had indulged in the crime of murder.

After they committed the crime of murder, the police launched combing operation. No arrest has been made so far.

The deceased forest staff Prajapati was stationed inside Palamau Tiger Reserve area. The CRPF 12th Battalion Commandant Pramod Sahu said during the search operation inside Garu forest area of Latehar,the security forces had recovered IED device in Maoist infested Kuku village. The IED device was turned inactive.
