From ED to CBI is a long gap filled up by the top court in the state on illegal mining in at Nimmun Pahar in Jirwabari police station area of Sahibganj.
Now, responding to the petition filed by Vijay Hansda who had demanded a CBI inquiry into the illegal mining case at Nimmun Pahar in Jirwabari police station area of Sahibganj, the Jharkhand High Court provided relief to him.
Today, the Jharkhand High Court today ordered a CBI probe into a matter of ‘illegal mining’ at Nimmun Pahad under the Jirwari police station area in Sahibganj.
A single bench of Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi ordered the probe after hearing the PIL filed by Vijay Hansda. Hansda through his petition had demanded a CBI probe informing about illegal mining at the said site.
Through his petition, Hansda informed the court that when he attempted to stop illegal mining, MLA representative of chief minister Hemant Soren, Pankaj Mishra, had threatened him with dire consequences.
Incidentally, Hansda had filed a petition a couple of days back to withdraw the PIL, but the court dismissed his application for withdrawal of the petition. Advocate Sudhanshu Shekhar argued before the court on behalf of Hansda.
Vijay Hansda is one of the witnesses of the ED probing the laundering of money earned by illegal mining. He told the agency that when he tried to lodge an FIR against Pankaj Mishra for carrying out illegal mining at Nimmu Pahad, the police refused to lodge the case.
