Investigations revealed that there was a political activism behind the students of the SP College in Dumka where the police had recovered a huge cashe of traditional weapons-Teer-Dhanush(Bow and Arrow).

In fact, the police had recovered as many as nearly 20,000 bow and arrows, iron axes, pickaxes and machetes along with liquor bottles and bombs from the hostel run by the State tribal welfare department.

The boarders at the hostel, most of them students of the college under Sidho-Kanhu University, said a report, were suspected of having perpetrated violent acts during the Statewide bandh against the Raghubar Das-led government on November 25.

“We have reasons to believe that they were hand in glove with a political party to use these traditional weapons against the ruling BJP”,said a police officer.
