Enforcement Directorate has issued summon to
Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren asking him to appear before its Ranchi based regional office on September 23.

This is ED’s fourth summon. The CM Soren had preferred not to abide by any one of its three summons and skipped all three in the past.

Whether the CM Soren will again skip or not will depend on the response of the Supreme Court’s response to his plea which is slated to be heard by the top court on Monday.

Notably, all ED summons were meant to record his take on its several questions concerning the alleged money laundering in the land scam case in Ranchi.

Apart from blaming the ED for summoning him for “ political “ considerations”, the CM Soren had moved the Supreme Court questioning the legality of ED’s summons.

In response, the SC is slated to hear his petition on September 18. Earlier, the CM Soren had gone on record stating that the ED should wait for the SC’s order to interrogate him.

The ED has raised the heat asking him to appear before it on September 23. This is a developing story under watch of the ED and CM Soren’s response.
