Kurmi organisations have withdrawn their indefinite rail blockade with effect from today when they were scheduled to enforce it. Result?

Trains under the jurisdiction of South Eastern Railway and East Coast Railway started plying on their scheduled routes in parts of West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand.

It may be recalled that as a precautionary measure, at least 11 trains were cancelled and 12 others diverted on September 19 under the jurisdiction of SER and ECcR in Jharkhand and Odisha, respectively, in view of the rail blockade.

As per ECoR, it has decided to run trains on normal routes with immediate effect, as per the Kurmi Organisation's agitation demanding ST status to Kurmi caste, an OBC right now.
