Maoists are active in pockets of Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Chhatisgarh, police confirm.
The latest incident occurred in neighbouring areas of Jharkhand where a jawan of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) was injured when a pressure improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Naxalites exploded in Bijapur district on Sunday.
Reports said that three IEDs, weighing 5 kg each, were also recovered from the blast site between Dumripalnar and Timenar villages, a report quoting a police officer said.
The explosion occurred around 9 am when a team of security personnel was out on an area domination operation, the report said.
