The Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) special court in Ranchi on Thursday rejected the former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren’s petition seeking permission to participate in the forthcoming budget session of Jharkhand assembly scheduled from February 23.

This means Hemant Soren who had sought permission to take part in the budget session beginning February 23 and conclude on March 2, will not be attending it.
The court, after hearing his plea had reserved its judgement on Wednesday.

However, earlier, the same court had permitted him to take part on February 5 floor test. Soren was arrested on January 31 in a case of money laundering involving the alleged illegal business of tribal land in Bargain.

Since his arrest, he remained in ED remand for 13 days. While remaining in ED, he participated in a trust vote on February 5. Presently Soren is in judicial remand and wants again to remain present during the assembly session.

मामले में कोर्ट ने 20 फरवरी (बुधवार) को ही मामले में सुनवाई की थी जिसके बाद फैसला 22 फरवरी यानी कि आज के लिए सुरक्षित रख लिया था.
