The police have arrested a veteran Naxal, who was carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head, in Jharkhand’s Latehar district.
The Naxal was identified as National Bhuyan. He was facing 11 criminal cases including that of murder, ransom and illegal possession of arms.
Latehar SP Anjali Anjan held a press conference to provide details about the background of this Naxal who had managed to remain beyond the reach of law enforcing agencies for over a decade.
A team of police personnel yesterday apprehended Bhuyan. Based on specific inputs, the team was out on a search operation in forest of Latehar.
