Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu has inaugurated 70th Glenmark Senior National Aquatic Championship-2016 inside Bir Budhu Bhagat Acquatic stadium at Mega Sports.

With its inauguration,competition started.While addressing the event,the Governor Murmu expressed satisfaction over the national competition and advised participants to take part in it with a sense of sporting spirit.

Later,ex Chief Minister of Goa,Digamber Kamat felicitated Women’s 400 m free style event winners -Shivani Kataria,Gold, from Haryana,Manique Gandhi,Silver,from maharashtra and Shruti Mahalingam,Bronze,from Tamilnadu.

Incidentally,after the 37th National Games in 2007,Bir Budhu Bhagat Acquatic stadium became the venue of a national competition.However,most of the seats in the stadium remained vacant on the inaugural day.
