Around 40 per cent of voting took place across nine states and one Union territory that went to polls on Monday as of 1 pm. 

The fourth phase of voting for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections is currently underway in 96 Lok Sabha constituencies. As per the Election Commission of India's Voter Turnout app, the approximate polling percentage by 1 pm stood at 40.32 per cent. 

Of this, the highest voter turnout was recorded in West Bengal at 51.87 per cent. 

This was followed by Madhya Pradesh (48.52 per cent), Jharkhand (43.80 per cent), Uttar Pradesh (39.68 per cent), and Bihar (34.44 per cent), respectively. 

In four LS constituencies, the percentage of polls was: Singhbhum 43.83; Lohardaga 43.46; Palamau 41.85; and Khunti 47.41. While Palamau is an SC Reserve LS constituency, Lohardaga, Singhbhum, and Khunti were Schedule Tribe Reserve LS seats.
