Responding to the summon issued by the Enforcement Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam on Tuesday appeared before sleuths at their office in Ranchi. 

“Alamgir Alam is being grilled on huge sums of money recovered from the rented flat of his Personal Secretary cum Officer on Special Duty Sanjeev Lal”, it is learnt. 

Apart from Alam, ED Advocate BMP Singh and Sanjeev Lal’s wife Reeta Lal had also reached ED office.She was spotted carrying a bag carrying files.  

Alamgir Alam is being interrogated together with his OSD Sanjeev Lal and Domestic Help Jehangir Alam,sources said. The ED has served summon to Alamgir Alam asking him to appear before the agency on May 14 at the Ranchi Zonal Office. 

Alam has been summoned in connection with the recovery of huge cash from the domestic help of his PS Sanjeev Lal. 

On May 6, ED conducted raids in Ranchi recovering over Rs. 35 crore unaccounted cash from the 2BHK house of Sanjeev Lal’s domestic help Jehangir, as part of a money laundering investigation related to alleged irregularities in the state rural development department. 

Later, both of them were arrested by the probe agency under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and were sent to six days' custody. Alamgir Alam, Jharkhand rural development minister from Congress-quota had denied having any involvement in the case.
