Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and his wife and Gandey MLA Kalpana Soren on Saturday met Congress senior leader Sonia Gandhi. 

Asked by media person why he met Congress senior leader Sonia Gandhi, the CM Soren replied that it was his “ formal” meeting. 

Also, Soren blamed the BJP for sending him to jail and keeping inside high walls for four months on fabricated allegations. 

He expressed similar view about his counter part Arbind Kejriwal who is in Tihar  jail on charges of his involvement in the liquor scam.” He( Arvind Kejriwal) will also get justice and come out of jail on bail soon”, said the CM Soren.

After coming out of jail on bail in the money laundering case connected with an alleged land scam on June 28, Soren who took oath of office as CM for the third time on July 4, visited national capital with his wife Kalpana Soren, for the first time.

Ever since then, he has been working round the clock and had handed over letters of appointment to 1500 Post Graduate Teachers( PGT) on July 12. 

This was a day after the Election Commission of India personnel held discussion with the state government Deputy Commissioners of 24 districts, indicating the Assembly polls which were due till January 2025, can be held earlier in October- November. 

Aware of it, the CM Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren were learnt to be strengthening their party JMM. 

Also, they were reportedly engaged in discussions with allies - Congress, RJD and Left parties - on the prime subject-seat- sharing. 

From available information, the meeting of CM Hemant Soren and Kalpana Soren with Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has gained significance.
