Before reaching home, Sub-Inspector of Police shot dead in Ranchi

It was raining on Friday night. The Sub-Inspector ( Special Branch) Anupam Kumar Kacchap was on his way back home.

As Kacchap, an Adivasi and 2018 batch SI( Now Special Branch), who was officially on leave, had crossed the Ring road - Kanke highway and entered the road going to Boria village, miscreants shot him dead.

Information reached the headquarters office of the police on Saturday morning when the IG ( Special Branch) Prabhat Kumar, DIG( Ranchi) Anoop Birtharay, SSP, Ranchi Chandan Kumar Sinha, and other police personnel reached the spot.

Inquiry revealed that the SI Anupam Kumar Kacchap was pumped with three bullets. Two hit him on his body and one on his hand. The body was lifted and brought to the state government-run RIMS hospital for post-mortem.

“He was shot by by unknown persons in the Kanke area of Ranchi,” said SSP, Ranchi Chandan Kumar Sinha.
