With Madhu Koda joining the BJP, the number of ex Chief Ministers in the saffron party has gone up to five. 

 

This means, the BJP will be led by five former chief ministers in the up coming assembly polls 2024 whose schedule is expected to be announced by the Election Commission of India soon. 

 

*Fifth ex CM is Madhu Koda. He had quit the BJP to become an MLA(Independent). As an Independent MLA, he had served as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand from 2006 to 2008. 

 

*Fourth ex CM is Champai Soren who who had quit the ruling JMM and joined the BJP on Friday. He served as the CM from February2, 2024 to July 3,2024.

*Third ex CM is Arjun Munda.He was the CM twice. First time he was the CM from March 18,2003 to March 2,2005. Second time Arjun Munda held the post from September 11, 2010 to January 8,2013. 

 

 

*Second ex CM is Raghubar Das. He held the post of chief minister from Dec 28,2014 to Dec 29,2019. 

 

*First ex CM is Babulal Marandi.He is also the first CM of Jharkhand who held this prestigious post between November 15,2000 and March 17,2003.
