Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan on 2nd October 2024 from Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. 

This initiative focuses on the empowerment and upliftment of tribal communities, fostering inclusive development in tribal villages across the country. 

The Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan envisions saturation of critical gaps in social infrastructure, health, education, and livelihood, under different schemes. 

Historically, government schemes operated in silos, limiting their impact. Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan aligns 17 central ministries, ensuring cross-departmental collaboration for comprehensive development. 

Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan will ensure saturation coverage for tribal families in tribal-majority villages and aspirational districts. It will cover 63,843 villages, benefitting over 5 crore tribal people.
