Murtu village under Chanho police station in Ranchi district is numb with the death of a student.This student was trampled to death by wild elephants on Thursday.

“A herd of elephants had encircled the body and kept it under their control for over three hours”,cribbed an eyewitness.

The student was identified as Rohit Kumar,a resident of Lohardaga.”He had come to Chanho to meet friends”,said a resident of Murtu village.

While the herd of wild elephants was moving.,Rohit and his friends reportedly came close to him.”Soon these elephants chased them and trampled Rohit to death”,said the police.
