Jharkhand got Alka Tiwari as the new chief secretary of the state, The Election Commission has endorsed her appointment. 

She will succeed Shri. L. Khiangte who retired on October 31. Alka Tiwari, a 1988 batch IAS officer, who is the wife of DK Tiwari, an IAS( Retired) officer of the 1986 batch, has held a number of key posts in the state. 

She will administer the bureaucratic machine during the upcoming assembly elections in 2024.
