A minor earthquake struck near Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, causing weak tremors felt by residents in the surrounding areas. 

The quake registered a magnitude of 3.0 and occurred at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers. 

Reports indicate that the shaking was most noticeable in nearby towns, with varying degrees of intensity experienced. 

The earthquake’s epicenter was located just east of Chandil, a small town in Jharkhand. Residents reported weak shaking, classified as intensity III on the Modified Mercalli Intensity Scale. 

This scale measures the effects of an earthquake based on human observations and structural responses. The intensity levels range from I (not felt) to X (extreme shaking).
