Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Hemant Soren took oath as the 14th chief minister of Jharkhand at the Morabadi Ground on Thursday. 

Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar administered the oath of office and secrecy to Soren at 4 pm. Soren, who retained the Barhait assembly seat with a margin of 39,791 votes in the recently held elections, took charge of the CM office for the fourth time. 

The Morahabadi maidan was packed with an audience. Most of the people, especially Adivasis who were present there were in up beat mood.

Many of them were spotted clapping and shouting pro-Hemant Soren and JMM slogans. 

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and party MP and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Tamil Nadu Deputy CM and DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Congress leader Tariq Anwar, Independent MP Pappu Yadav were among top leaders who were present on the oath-taking function at Morahabadi maidan in Ranchi. 

They congratulated Hemant Soren and expressed their support for him. Hemant Soren, Nitil Soren tells ANI, "I am very happy for my father...Everyone has come to witness this. To the tribals, I would like to say that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is working for you, working for the entire Jharkhand."
