Suspended IAS officer Pooja Singhal is coming out of high walls of the Birsa Munda jail. She, who remained in jail for over 28 months, was granted bail by the Special PMLA court.

Her petition seeking bail led to hearings and the PMLA court heard both sides- the Enforcement Directorate and Singhal and reserved its judgement and then granted bail to her.

Notably, on April 10, 2023, the special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court had framed charges against Pooja Singhal under sections 3 and 4 of the PMLA.

Despite her interim bail granted in February 2023 to care for her ailing daughter, the Supreme Court had later rejected her bail plea, and she remains in custody.
