The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, has entered into an important partnership with the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy.
This collaboration will establish the 'Kautilya Society,' which will focus on advancing legal research and public policy initiatives at the university.
The university had been planning this partnership and the decision was finalized after several meetings.
The MOU was signed, through a video conference ,by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Ashok R. Patil, and the Founder and the Research Director of the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, Arghya Sengupta.
The Vice-Chancellor highlighted how this partnership would benefit students of NUSRL, in improving their research skills and creating new opportunities. He also praised the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy for its collaborations with both state and central governments to bring about important changes in the legal system.
The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy ('Vidhi') is an independent organization that works on essential legal reforms. It collaborates with the center government, state governments, and public institutions to address critical legal and policy issues.
Established in 2013, the think tank has been helping law students in developing better opportunities and has encouraged them to work on legal research.
Assistant Professor Dr. Utkarsh Verma, Assistant Professor Soni Bhola, and several students were also present at the event. This partnership will offer NUSRL students, opportunities in research, policy analysis, and legal advocacy.
The 'Kautilya Society' will become a hub for innovative legal thinking and public policy, benefiting not just the legal community but society at large.
