Happy Christmas! ₹2,500 would be credited to the bank accounts of each woman beneficiary under Maiyan Samman Yojana before the year 2024 ends and new year 2025 begins, it is learnt.

The Hemant Soren government appears poised to 

fulfill its electoral promise to ensure women celebrate the Chirstmas and the New year 2025.  

So, women beneficiaries are expected to get the Rs 2500 per month on their bank accounts between December 25 and December 28 so that they can celebrate Christmas and New Year 2025.How many of them will get benefits from this scheme remains to be seen.  

However, before the Assembly polls, the government provided financial assistance of ₹1,000 to women in the 18-50 years age bracket under the scheme.  

Though the decision was taken at the ’Cabinet meeting’ and the supplementary budget incorporated its expenditure in the financial year -2024-25. 

 The JMM-led government had launched the scheme in August this year benefiting over 50 lakh women in the state.
