Bihar MP Rajesh Ranjan, popularly known as Pappu Yadav had raised a pertinent question - whether the (Modi) government has formulated/proposed to formulate any plan for the renovation of Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited, Ranchi in Jharkhand?

In his written reply on the floor of the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, the Minister of State for Heavy Industries, B. Srinivasa Varma said,” No.”

The Minister’s reply  added.”Does not arise…: Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited (HEC) is registered under the Companies Act. Hence, it is a separate legal entity.”

“Therefore, it needs to generate its own resources to make payment of salaries to the employees. Due to continuous losses, HEC is currently facing an acute financial crisis which has caused irregular payment of salaries to employees. “

“In the current financial year 2024-25, four and half months’ net salary has been paid to the employees. Presently, cumulative salary dues of workmen and officers & supervisors are for 25 months and 29 months respectively.
