The Eastern Command Investiture Ceremony is an annual event that honors the bravery and distinguished service of Indian Army personnel within the Eastern Command.
The most recent ceremony took place on February 12 2025 at the Ranchi Military Station in Jharkhand.
Presided over by Lieutenant General Ram Chander Tiwari, UYSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Command, the event recognized 42 awardees including 21 Sena Medals (Gallantry), 05 Sena Medals (Distinguished), 02 Bar To Sena Medal (Distinguished), 02 Yudh Seva Medals, 01 Bar To Vishisht Seva Medal and 11 Vishisht Seva Medals.
Additionally, 45 units were bestowed with the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command Unit Appreciation, in recognition of their exceptional professionalism and unparalleled achievements.
The ceremony was attended by a large gathering of military personnel, civilian dignitaries, students, and the proud families of the award winners, reflecting the nation’s deep respect and gratitude towards its brave soldiers.
On the eve of the ceremony, February 11, the grand cultural event Shaurya Sandhya featuring an Army Band Symphony Fusion performance, Martial Arts Display including Kalaripayattu and Gatka Display and Fly Past by Helicopters showcasing the rich heritage and valor of the Indian Army was held at Jharkhand War Memorial, Ranchi.
General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Command congratulated the awardees and encouraged all ranks to continue upholding the high traditions and values of the Indian Army.
