President Droupadi Murmu who landed and currently relaxing at Raj Bhawan in Ranchi, is slated to participate in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, 17 km from the capital city of Jharkhand. 

The entire campus of BIT, Mesra is decked up. All buildings were washed and painted afresh and gardens and roads were shining by well-lit street lights. Scores of students and BIT, Mesra personnel are prepared to greet President Murmu. 

Even the  Raj Bhawan in Ranchi looked decked up with lights shining at its entrance gate guarded by security forces.

The President arrived at 4.45 pm and went straight to the Raj Bhawan where she would stay tonight. Security has been beefed up across Ranchi given her visit. 

The traffic management was such that all roads connecting Ranchi- Mesra located along NH 33 were guarded by security forces and police. 

A meeting headed by Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari was held to review preparations for the President’s two-day visit beginning Friday evening.
