Peace prevailed in Giridih where violent clashes between two communities of Hindus and Muslims marred Holi celebrations in Jharkhand’s Giridih on Friday. 

The group clashed had lead to vehicles being set on fire and a brief disruption of peace in the district. 

The unrest erupted near Ghodthambha Chowk in Giridih when a Holi procession passed through a narrow street. 

An altercation broke out between members of two different communities, rapidly escalating into violence. The chaos lasted for about an hour before local authorities intervened to disperse the crowd, the officials said.
