In Jharkhand, 6.1% of women consume alcohol. 

According to a study published in the Journal of Adivasi and Indigenous Studies, this is mostly common in marginalised tribal areas, where a lack of opportunities drives people towards alcohol addiction, particularly women towards alcohol sales.

According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5) cond ..for 2019-2021, these states have the highest percentage of women consuming alcohol.

Arunaachal Pradesh tops the list 24.2% of women in the state consume alcohol.

The state where the second-largest percentage of women consume is Sikkim where 16.2 percent women consume alcohol.

Next is Assam where 7.2 percent women consume alcohol.Telangana is another state where 6.7 percent women consume alcohol.

In Andoman and Nicobar Island, 5.0 percent women drink alcohol. The islands have a variety of local beverages such as Handia.
