The Dassam water fall,a natural cascade across the Kanchi river,a tributary of the Subarnarekha river,is a popular site of tourists.However,on Friday,it was the centre of cops.Reason?

On Thursday-Friday night,three persons including two children were killed.Their bodies were gathered by the police together with two others.All five persons were murdered by slitting each of their throats,said the police.

“Two injured persons who were facing life and death were admitted at the hospital”,said the police.

The crime took place at Rasen village.”All of them faced attack on their throats and neck”,said the police.Ranchi Rural SP RK Lakra and other police officers and personnel had reached the spot.

Though reports floated in the local media attributed the crime to ‘witchcraft’,residents of Rasen,most of whom were Munda tribals,were reportedlly in tears.

“The cause of the crime was rooted in the land of the deceased sought to be looted by the killers”,said a resident preferring anonimity.
