The rape case connected with an American woman in New Delhi on March 28,2015 has taken a turn with Additional Sessions Judge Sanjiv Jain on Thursday ordering seven years of imprisonment to ‘Peepli Live’ Co-Director Mahmood Farooqui.

Farooqui was found guilty on the charge of raping this American national at his south Delhi residence last year.

As it is,she,a 35-year-old American woman,who was a student of Columbia University,was in the national capital for research work for her doctoral thesis.

In the FIR,she had alleged that Farooqui had raped her on March 28,2015 and later apologised through several e-mails exchanged between them.
