In a review meeting of the state Commercial Tax Department held inside Project Bhawan in Ranchi on Wednesday,Jharkhand Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma observed that any decline and neglect in collection of revenue will not be tolerated.

The CS directed its officials to issue ‘demand notice’ to those non registered sale dealer whose address was available, and, in addition to preparing the text of the notice at the Department level,make it available to its regional officers.

“A fortnight should be given in the demand notice and action taken after these 15 days were completed.To begin with,identify big tax defaulters so that awareness can be created to make payment of commercial tax in time.Also,review the sale made by registered dealers who had recorded high level of sale every week”,said the CS.

In the meeting attended among others by the Department officials,the CS directed to register FIRs against 96 Middlemen,set up SOP to make Check Post functional and take action against non registered dealers.”Ensure that cent-percent vehicles entered into the Check Post”,said the CS.
