
Several Forest officers of Bihar and Jharkhand have welcomed the appointment of Santosh Tiwari as the new Director General & Special Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC).
A notification to this end was conveyed vide the Department of Personnel & Training communication No.31/01/2026-EO(SM.II) dated 01.10.202, following the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet.
Santosh Tiwari is a 1993 batch Bihar cadre Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer. He will now be the Special Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
He, also spelled Tiwari, is an Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer belonging to the Bihar (BH) cadre from the 1993 batch.
