In the aftermath of the May 25 bloodshed in Bastar,the Centre has decided to deploy 5,000 CRPF personnel in Chattisgarh and Jharkhand.

The troops consisting of five battalions of the CRPF have begun to move in the identified areas of these two states.

In addition,six brand new MI 17 V5 helicopters in addition to existing six under IAF’s operation Triveni and Garud commandos are planned to be deployed in “defensive and reactive role”,it is learnt.
